Why costlier than regular kurtas? The fabric is modal silk which is expensive than cotton. This style requires around 4mt of the modal silk fabric and the style has many cuts flair and detailing. The fabric is difficult to sew because of it's slippery texture so the time required to stich a kurta is more in case of modal silk.
